Rune Specialist

Rune Specialist is a Tier 3 Arcanist skill that improves the effectiveness of runes socketed into weapons and chestplates. Runes can be inserted into weapons with 1 to 3 available slots and into chestplates, and Rune Specialist increases the bonus each socketed rune provides. Higher ranks further amplify rune bonuses, making Rune Specialist essential for players who invest in the Rune Crafting Station and build around socketed gear.

Rune Specialist synergizes with every elemental mastery in the Arcanist tree, since many runes provide elemental damage bonuses that stack with Fire Mastery, Ice Mastery, Lightning Mastery, and Poison Mastery. For Warrior-Arcanist hybrid builds, pairing Rune Specialist with Master Weapons' Iron and Mechanical weapons (which have more rune slots) creates the strongest socketed weapon configurations. Advanced Rods at Tier 4 opens higher-tier staves that also benefit from rune socketing.

Players who invest in the Rune Crafting Station infrastructure will find Rune Specialist delivers outsized returns compared to its skill point cost. The skill rewards players who actively engage with the crafting system and maintain a diverse rune inventory. Even players primarily focused on the Warrior tree should consider dipping into the Arcanist tree for Rune Specialist if they plan to use weapons with multiple rune slots.
