Capybara
Wildlife
The Capybara is Everwind's largest passive animal, a peaceful giant rodent found near bodies of water and in lush grassland areas. With their barrel-shaped bodies, stubby legs, and calm demeanor, Capybaras are a beloved fixture of the game's fauna, often spotted half-submerged in ponds or grazing in small groups on riverbanks. They are completely harmless and never attack, even when threatened.
Capybaras have no meaningful combat stats and will not engage in any form of hostility. As one of the larger passive animals in the game, they are hard to miss but equally hard to feel threatened by. Players can walk directly up to them without triggering any defense response, making them unique among the larger creatures in that they hold their ground rather than fleeing.
As a peaceful herbivore, the Capybara contributes significantly to the sense that Everwind's world contains genuine life beyond the endless waves of undead and monsters. They may drop animal materials including hide and meat when killed, providing an alternative low-risk source of crafting ingredients. Players who prefer to avoid unnecessary violence will appreciate that Capybaras can simply be observed as part of the living world rather than treated as a resource.
