Drive Piston

The Drive Piston is a heavy-duty cylindrical component forged from tempered steel, designed to convert combustion energy into the linear thrust that powers an airship's propulsion system. Its polished bore and reinforced connecting rod allow it to endure the immense pressures generated inside an airship engine. Players will recognize it by its compact, barrel-shaped housing etched with heat-dissipation grooves along the outer casing.

The Drive Piston is a required crafting ingredient when assembling the Engine at the Fabricator station. Without a functioning Engine, the airship cannot generate forward thrust, making this piston one of the most critical components in the entire build chain. Gather the required number of Drive Pistons before attempting an Engine build to avoid interruptions mid-construction.

Drive Pistons can be crafted at a workbench using refined metal resources, or discovered inside loot crates scattered across higher-tier zones. Because the Engine demands multiple pistons, players are advised to stockpile them early. Progressing to a full airship build without a reserve of Drive Pistons will stall advancement significantly, so treat them as a top-priority resource.
