Airship Component
Engine
Engine
The Engine is the primary propulsion component of the Everwind airship, generating the thrust that moves the vessel horizontally through the air and responds to the player's directional inputs from the Cockpit. It is a core structural requirement for any operational airship, alongside the Balloon for lift and the Energy Generator for power. The Engine's performance characteristics influence how quickly and responsively the airship handles during flight across different altitude zones.
Engine crafting draws on materials from the mechanical airship parts category, including components like the Drive Piston and Rotor that are themselves crafted from refined metallic inputs processed through the Furnace and Processing Station. The Engine must be connected to the broader airship system via Pipe components, and it depends on the Energy Generator to supply the electrical power needed for sustained operation. Multiple engine upgrades are possible, allowing players to improve thrust and maneuverability as they progress into higher and more demanding altitude zones.
Position the Engine in a structurally reinforced section of your airship's Hull Block framework to protect it from damage during combat or hazardous zone traversal. Ensure Pipe connections between the Engine, Energy Generator, and Cockpit are all intact and properly routed, since a broken link in the power or control chain will degrade flight performance. As you upgrade the Airship Core to access Zone 2 and Zone 3, consider whether your current Engine tier supports the performance demands of those environments and invest in upgrades accordingly.
