Expert Key

The Expert Key is the second-highest tier of lockpick key in Everwind, required to open the most heavily secured non-elite containers found in the game. Expert keys are rare crafting outputs requiring advanced materials and significant station progression, making them among the most valuable consumable items in the mid-to-late game.

Chests secured by Expert locks are found in the innermost chambers of high-level dungeons, the personal quarters of Mortivar Generals and Steamer leaders, and hidden vaults in the Desert and Rotten Island biomes. These containers hold some of the best loot in the game: high-tier equipment, powerful runes, rare alchemy ingredients, and occasionally unique crafting recipes.

Because Expert Keys are so valuable, players should map out Expert-locked containers and plan dedicated loot runs rather than opening every chest encountered. Using an Expert Key on a container discovered during casual exploration risks missing a more valuable opportunity later.
