Rune
Rune of Elements
Fragment
The Rune of Elements adds 10% to all elemental damage, making it the essential offensive rune for Arcanist builds that rely on fire, ice, poison, or electric-type attacks from staves and spellbooks. The bonus applies broadly across all elemental damage types rather than being restricted to a single element, giving elemental-focused builds flexibility without requiring separate runes for different damage types. Ten percent on a damage type that can stack with spell charges and staff multipliers is a significant contributor to elemental DPS.
The Rune of Elements is a guaranteed drop from the Wraith Lord boss, making it one of the most reliably obtainable named runes in the game. The guaranteed drop removes reliance on luck-based farming, though bringing Loot Luck to the encounter is still worthwhile for the surrounding loot pool. Upgrading the rune beyond its dropped size follows the standard recipe: five runes of the current size plus five Runalit crystals at the Rune Crafting Station.
For Arcanist builds, the Rune of Elements is arguably the highest-priority rune to obtain and upgrade, directly amplifying the core damage type of the entire class. It pairs with the Rune of the Arcanist, which extends Staff Charge Capacity, to create a two-rune chestplate setup that increases both the power and the frequency of elemental attacks. Combine the Rune of Elements with the Spellbook of Hellfire or Spellbook of Freeze to maximize elemental output, and supplement with Sharp Instinct and Lethal Precision potions to add critical chance and damage on top of the elemental multiplier.
