Freezes enemies to the ground

The Spellbook of Freeze is a crowd control weapon that encases targeted enemies in ice, immobilizing them completely for the duration of the freeze effect. The targeted or area application stops enemy movement and attack patterns, creating windows for free damage or safe repositioning. Freeze is among the strongest forms of crowd control in Everwind because it completely removes the threat of immobilized enemies for its duration.

The Spellbook of Freeze requires the Advanced Books skill to wield and does not degrade with use, maintaining full functionality indefinitely without repair. The Master Books skill may extend the freeze duration or widen the effective area of the immobilization. As a spellbook, it competes for the same equipment slot as other books, so build planning determines when Freeze is the right choice versus Hellfire or Madness.

The Spellbook of Freeze excels in situations where controlling the positioning and action timing of dangerous enemies is more important than raw damage output. Pair it with the Poison rune on a secondary weapon to apply damage-over-time during the frozen window, turning crowd control time into guaranteed free tick damage. Arcanist players who also carry the Rune of Elements will see elemental damage bonuses from the freeze's ice typing amplified, making the Spellbook of Freeze both a control tool and a damage amplifier simultaneously.
