Rune
Rune of Warding
Fragment
The Rune of Warding reduces all incoming damage by 10%, providing a passive defensive bonus that applies to every hit regardless of damage type. Unlike elemental resistance potions, which are specific to fire, ice, electricity, or poison, the Rune of Warding mitigates universal damage and therefore never loses relevance against mixed-element or physical-only threats. Ten percent reduction compounding with armor values and Stone Skin's defensive burst creates a layered defensive profile.
The Rune of Warding is crafted at the Rune Crafting Station through standard acquisition and upgrade paths. Progressing it from smaller to larger sizes follows the same five-plus-five formula: five Rune of Warding at the current tier and five Runalit crystals advance it to the next. Higher sizes increase the damage reduction percentage, making investment in upgrading it worthwhile for dedicated tank or survival builds.
The Rune of Warding is a natural fit for the chestplate slot, where it provides its damage reduction passively across all combat. It pairs with Stone Skin potion for brief spikes of extreme mitigation and with elemental resistance potions for comprehensive coverage against specific threat types. For the Last Chance potion strategy, survivng at 15% HP becomes far more viable when the Rune of Warding is cutting incoming follow-up damage by 10% during the recovery window.
