Damaged Steamer
Steamer
The Damaged Steamer is a structurally compromised mechanical combatant belonging to the Steamer civilization, encountered exclusively on Rotten Island within the altitude range of 400 to 900 meters. These malfunctioning steam-powered units are less intact than even the Rusted Axiom Crawler, their chassis cracked and pressure systems destabilized by long years of decay and neglect. Despite their visibly deteriorated state, Damaged Steamers remain mobile, aggressive, and capable of dealing meaningful damage before their inevitable explosive demise.
Damaged Steamers deal 6 damage per hit at a flat rate and carry 60 HP with a defense value of 9, rewarding 45 EXP upon defeat. The lower defense value compared to the Rusted Axiom Crawler's 19 makes Damaged Steamers somewhat easier to dispatch with sustained attacks, but the same Steamer elemental vulnerabilities apply: -10% Fire and -15% Ice make cold and fire weapons the optimal choices, while the +10% Poison and +10% Electric resistances make those damage types inefficient. As with all Steamer enemies, Damaged Steamers explode on death, dealing AoE damage, so maintaining distance when a Steamer is near death is mandatory.
The Damaged Steamer and Rusted Axiom Crawler together constitute the primary Steamer enemy population on Rotten Island, with the Damaged Steamer filling the role of the lighter, faster-to-kill unit and the Rusted Axiom Crawler serving as the heavier, more durable variant. Both share the same 45 EXP reward, making them interchangeable targets for experience farming. Steamer ruins around Rotten Island yield Coal, Iron Ore, and Steamer Metal Scraps, and the Steamer Mines dungeon accessible within Rotten Island contains the Forge Blueprint and Rare Metal Scraps for players who clear through the Steamer opposition. Never stand over a dying Steamer.
