Forest Ent

The Forest Ent is an ancient tree spirit that has stood sentinel over the Russet Forest since before recorded history, a living embodiment of the forest's primal will made manifest in twisted wood, bark, and root. Found on the surface of the Russet Forest rather than in any dungeon, the Forest Ent is a surface boss encounter that players can stumble upon while simply exploring the biome. Its towering form blends into the ancient trees at a distance, only revealing its nature when it begins to move.

As a surface boss, the Forest Ent fights with sweeping branch strikes, root eruptions from the ground, and powerful stomp attacks that cover wide areas. Its enormous physical bulk means players cannot simply stand and trade hits, and its reach extends further than most melee bosses. Understanding its attack wind-ups and safe zones to stand in during each ability is key to survival. It does not summon adds, making it a cleaner test of individual skill compared to multi-add bosses.

The Forest Ent drops two unique rewards: the Grove Murmur, the only unique sword in the entirety of Everwind, and the Ent Heart, a rare crafting material. The Grove Murmur alone makes the Forest Ent one of the most sought-after bosses in the game for weapon collectors and melee build players. The Russet Forest also houses Elite Wolves and serves as the approach zone to the Mortivar Lord's dungeon, giving the entire biome a layered danger profile that rewards thorough exploration.
