Snarling Boar
Wildlife
The Snarling Boar is a large, aggressive boar-like creature encountered in various biomes of Everwind. Stocky and barrel-chested with coarse bristled fur and curved tusks stained from years of rooting through swamp soil, the Snarling Boar is a neutral animal that quickly transitions to full aggression when threatened or approached too closely. Its low growl and raised hackles serve as a brief warning before it charges.
With 85 HP, 9 DEF, and attacks dealing 16 to 17 damage, the Snarling Boar is among the more dangerous neutral animals in the game. Its charge attack covers ground rapidly and can knock back lighter-geared players. Fighting one in an open area is manageable, but Snarling Boars sometimes congregate in small groups, and aggravating multiple at once can be overwhelming for early-game characters. Staying out of their aggro radius until ready to engage is the safest approach. They reward 45 EXP on defeat.
Snarling Boars are a valuable source of animal materials including meat and hide in the early and mid game. Their neutral status means cautious players can observe and even pass near them without conflict, but the temptation to harvest their drops makes many encounters combative. More powerful and aggressive variants of boar-type wildlife may exist deeper in Everwind's biomes.
