Everwind Hang Glider Guide: Movement, Traversal, and Exploration Tips
Date Published

Movement in Everwind goes beyond simple running and jumping. The Hang Glider is a special tool that dramatically expands your traversal options, allowing you to glide between floating island platforms, descend safely from great heights, and reach areas that would otherwise be inaccessible on foot. Combined with the Windborn Potion, the Levitation Potion, and the Jump Booster Potion, Everwind's movement system rewards players who invest in understanding it.
The Hang Glider
The Hang Glider is crafted as a special tool item and equipped in your tool slot. Deploying it while airborne converts your fall into a controlled glide, letting you travel significant horizontal distance while losing altitude slowly. The Hang Glider is essential for navigating between floating island platforms that are separated by gaps too wide to jump but too close to warrant spinning up an airship.
Gliding with the Hang Glider works best when you jump from elevated terrain and immediately deploy it. The initial height advantage translates directly into glide distance: the higher you jump from, the further you can reach. Scouting the terrain with a Spyglass before a long glide is recommended, since committing to a glide toward an island that turns out to be more distant than expected results in a long fall.
Movement Potions
Swiftness Potion: +40% movement speed for 300 seconds. The longest-duration movement buff in the game and one of the most versatile potions overall. Use Swiftness when traversing large open biomes on foot between resource nodes, during dungeon runs to cover more ground quickly, and when kiting enemies who outspeed you. At 5 minutes duration, a single Swiftness Potion covers most short expeditions in their entirety.
Jump Booster Potion: +50% jump height for 60 seconds. Allows you to reach ledges and platforms that are normally inaccessible. Critical for navigating certain dungeon puzzle sections and for reaching elevated ore veins or resource nodes on cliff faces. Combine with the Hang Glider for a high-jump followed by a long glide to cover terrain efficiently.
Levitation Potion: Reduces fall speed for 60 seconds. Essentially a safety net for high falls, preventing fall damage during the duration. Less versatile than the Jump Booster or Swiftness Potion, but invaluable in specific situations: descending from very high Zone 3 terrain without a Hang Glider, or when a dungeon drop is unavoidable.
Windborn Potion: +50% glide speed for 300 seconds. Dramatically accelerates Hang Glider movement, turning a leisurely glide into a fast transit option. The 5-minute duration makes this an excellent potion for planned exploration expeditions that involve multiple glides between island clusters. Pair with the Spyglass to scout your route before committing to a fast glide that gives you less time to react to terrain.
Engineer Navigation Skills
The Engineer skill Navigation enhances your exploration toolkit in ways that synergize directly with the Hang Glider and movement items. Navigation likely provides map-related benefits or reduced travel costs that make long-range exploration more efficient. Combined with Area Scan (which detects resources and entities in a radius) and Life Detection (which identifies living enemies before you see them), the Engineer exploration skills allow you to plan optimal traversal routes before committing to a glide or airship approach.
Airship vs. Hang Glider
The airship and the Hang Glider serve different traversal needs. The airship handles long-distance inter-island travel, altitude changes between zones, and carrying large quantities of materials. The Hang Glider handles intra-island movement, dropping from airship altitude to specific ground targets, and emergency descents. The two tools are complementary rather than competitive: experienced players use the airship to arrive at a zone, then Hang Glide between specific points of interest within that zone without firing up the airship engines for every short hop.
