Brown Tattered Rags

Brown Tattered Rags are a Cloth-tier chest piece that every survivor wakes up wearing in Everwind. Offering just 3 DEF and 50 Endurance, they represent the very bottom of the protection ladder, barely holding together against the first hazards of the starting zone. Despite their meager stats, they cover the chest slot and free you to focus early inventory space on weapons and food.

No skill requirements stand between you and these rags; they are simply the default garment when you first open your eyes in the world. They cannot be crafted at a Smithing Station and have no recipe to learn. As soon as you locate even a set of Patched Worn Clothes or a Modest Outfit, replacement becomes a top priority.

Brown Tattered Rags belong firmly in the opening minutes of a survival run, setting the tone for Everwind's philosophy: you start with almost nothing and must scavenge your way upward. Pairing them with any scavenged shield in the early game is recommended, since your defense will be so low that every blocked hit counts. Consider them a reminder of how far your character still has to climb.
