Wooden Chestplate
Chest
Wooden Chestplate is a Wood-tier chest armor piece with 5 DEF and 125 Endurance, bridging the gap between basic Cloth garments and proper material-tier protection. The jump in Endurance from 75 to 125 is substantial and means this piece survives significantly longer between repairs. It occupies the chest slot and can hold rune sockets, one of the key advantages of chest armor in Everwind.
Wooden Chestplate can be crafted at a Smithing Station using wood and basic binding materials available early in the game. No skill unlock is required to equip it, making it a viable first crafted chest armor for any fresh character. It outclasses all Cloth chest variants in both DEF and Endurance, and serves as a clear stepping stone before Leather Chestplate becomes craftable.
For new players, the Wooden Chestplate is often the first piece of armor that feels like real protection rather than a placeholder. Its rune socket potential makes it worth keeping around even after finding Leather pieces, since a well-socketed Wooden Chestplate can sometimes outperform a bare Leather one. Transitioning to Leather Chestplate (7 DEF, 250 END) should remain the goal for any combat-focused build.
