Rotwood Planks
WoodPlank
Rotwood Planks are processed lumber made from Rotwood Log at the Carpenter Station or Processing Station. They retain the unique decayed and deteriorated character of wood from Rotten Island, with a dark mottled surface and an unusual texture that distinguishes them clearly from other plank types. Rotwood Planks are a specialty construction material tied specifically to the Rotten Island biome in Zone 2.
Rotwood Planks are used in crafting recipes and construction projects that specifically call for this decayed wood variety. Their unique properties, derived from the corrupted Rotten Island environment, make them suitable for certain builds and items that cannot be substituted with conventional wood types. Players engaged in mid-game construction or crafting projects that require Rotwood Planks will need to maintain a dedicated supply from Rotten Island logging runs.
Since Rotwood Planks require Rotwood Logs from the hazardous Rotten Island biome, planning efficient harvesting runs is important. Combine wood gathering with other Rotten Island objectives such as collecting Coal and Steamer Metal Scrap to make each visit worthwhile. Process Rotwood Logs into planks at your Carpenter Station or Processing Station in batches after each island run. Maintaining a buffer stock of Rotwood Planks prevents crafting delays when a project calls for them unexpectedly.
