Sulphur
Ore
Sulphur is a Zone 2 ore found in the Russet Forest and surrounding mid-altitude areas between 400 and 900 meters. It appears as bright yellow crystalline deposits with a distinctive sulfurous odor, making it easy to spot among darker rock formations. Unlike most other ores, Sulphur does not require smelting and is used directly from its raw form in crafting recipes.
Sulphur is a non-smelted material that feeds into specific crafting recipes requiring its unique chemical properties. It is not processed into an ingot or refined form at the Furnace. Instead, it is used as a direct ingredient in various specialty recipes, giving it a different role in the crafting system compared to metallic ores. Players should check their available recipes carefully to understand which projects call for Sulphur.
Because Sulphur only appears in Zone 2, players need to reach at least 400 meters altitude before they can begin gathering it. Stockpiling Sulphur when you first reach the Russet Forest is wise, as some mid-game recipes may require it in moderate quantities. Sulphur deposits are generally found on exposed cliffs and rocky outcroppings, so scanning vertical surfaces in Zone 2 biomes is the best search strategy.
