The Furnace is one of the most essential processing stations in Everwind, serving as the primary facility for smelting raw ores into the refined ingots that power the entire metalworking progression chain. Without a functioning Furnace, players cannot produce the Copper, Tin, Pyrite, Iron, or Gold ingots required by dozens of downstream recipes. It also enables the production of alloys: combining Copper and Tin yields Bronze ingots, while smelting Iron alongside Coal produces the high-performance Steel ingot.
The Furnace sits at a pivotal position in the crafting hierarchy, acting as the mandatory supplier for the Smithing Station, Fabricator, and numerous other recipes across the game. Players will find themselves returning to the Furnace constantly as they advance through tiers, since each new material progression requires newly unlocked ore types gathered from deeper or more dangerous biomes. Coal, essential for Steel production, adds a resource management layer that encourages players to plan mining trips with Furnace output goals in mind.
Position your Furnace close to your Smithing Station and storage to minimize transit time between smelting and forging operations. Running multiple Furnace instances in parallel can significantly speed up large production batches when you are preparing gear upgrades or stocking materials for airship construction. Pay special attention to building up a Bronze supply early, as it bridges the gap between basic Copper-tier gear and the more powerful Iron-tier equipment unlocked later.
