Cinder Rod is a Fire-element Magic Staff in Everwind, dealing 11 to 12 Fire damage per shot. Crafted at the Smithing Station or Fabricator, it channels combustive energy into ranged fire projectiles that deal direct Fire-type damage on contact. As a slightly higher-damage entry-level staff compared to the Poison Scepter, it appeals to players who prefer Fire damage typing against enemies weak to burning effects.
Like other Magic Staves, the Cinder Rod operates on a charge-based system and benefits significantly from the Rune of the Arcanist, which extends Staff Charge Capacity by 20 percent. This rune is the primary customization consideration for any staff build, as it directly extends combat longevity before requiring a fresh staff or recharge. The Cinder Rod's Fire damage makes it particularly powerful against enemies with ice or nature affinity while being less effective against fire-resistant creatures. Upgrade Station enhancement is available.
Cinder Rod excels in encounters against organic, flammable, or ice-type enemies where Fire damage resistance is low. Players building around elemental staff combat should consider carrying multiple staves covering different damage types to adapt to enemy resistances, and Cinder Rod covers the Fire slot effectively in early-to-mid caster builds. The full-power Fire staff, Flames Staff, offers 15 to 17 damage and 50 charges as the end-game Fire-type option for dedicated staff users.
