Poison Scepter

Poison Scepter is an entry-level Magic Staff in Everwind, dealing 10 to 11 Poison damage per shot and serving as the first elemental ranged option available to players pursuing the magic combat path. Crafted at the Smithing Station or Fabricator, it channels venomous energy into a ranged projectile that inflicts poison damage on impact. Unlike physical weapons, Magic Staves deal elemental damage that interacts with enemy resistances, making enemy knowledge a key part of effective staff use.

The Poison Scepter does not list a fixed charge count in the same way as higher-tier staves, but players should be mindful of its limited use capacity. It does not require standard weapon skills in the same way as melee weapons, positioning it as an accessible entry to elemental combat. One rune slot allows customization; the Rune of the Arcanist, which extends Staff Charge Capacity by 20 percent, is the most directly impactful choice for any Magic Staff user. Upgrade Station enhancement is supported.

Poison Scepter is most effective against enemies without high poison resistance, dealing sustained damage-over-time that pairs well with a keep-at-range approach. It introduces players to the core staff mechanic of elemental type-matching: using a Poison staff against poison-resistant enemies is inefficient, while targeting susceptible creatures maximizes every charge. Players building an elemental caster setup should consider Poison Scepter as a stepping stone before acquiring the full 50-charge staves like Venom Staff and Flames Staff.
