Plank Blade
LongSword
Plank Blade is the Wood-tier long sword in Everwind, a two-handed weapon fashioned from a long, broad plank of wood shaped to approximate a sword's silhouette. It can be crafted at the Crafting Station or via Pocket Crafting, making it among the earliest two-handed weapons available to survivors. As the entry point into the long sword category, it sacrifices the attack speed of one-handed swords for increased reach and higher per-hit damage.
No skill requirement is needed to equip Plank Blade, making it a freely accessible option for players who prefer two-handed combat from the outset. One rune slot allows a single permanent enhancement, with Life Steal being a common early choice to improve survivability when swinging a slower two-handed weapon. Upgrading at the Upgrade Station up to +10 is possible, though Wood-tier weapons are quickly superseded once Stone-tier crafting is available.
Plank Blade is most effective when its reach advantage can be used to engage enemies at a safer distance than one-handed options allow. It introduces the long sword playstyle that rewards positioning and measured attacks over rapid strikes. Players who favor two-handed combat will progress from Plank Blade to Stone Long Blade, then through the metal tiers toward the impressive Glintedge Saber and ultimately the 35 to 40 damage Mechanical Long Sword.
