Pyrite Chopper

Pyrite Chopper is a Pyrite-tier hatchet in Everwind, shaped from pyrite-reinforced metal at the Smithing Station into a broad-bladed chopping weapon. Its larger blade geometry compared to the Copper Hatchet suggests an emphasis on cleaving power, and the damage values back this up with a meaningful increase over the Copper tier. Advanced Weapons skill is required for equipping, consistent with all mid-tier metal weapons.

Two rune slots on the Pyrite Chopper open up effective build options for hatchet-focused characters. The Doom rune is particularly interesting here, adding a damage amplification effect to an already hard-hitting chopping motion. Bludgeon-level stagger is not available, but the Pyrite Chopper's impact can still interrupt lighter enemy attacks. Upgrading to +10 at the Upgrade Station makes it a strong bridge between the Copper and Bronze tiers.

Pyrite Chopper is effective in open-world zones and mid-tier dungeon encounters where its heavier blade can cleave through grouped enemies or punish slow-attacking foes. Players who enjoy the hatchet category's versatility will use the Pyrite Chopper as a confident mid-game workhorse before transitioning to Bronze Hatchet. The fool's gold finish gives it a visually distinctive golden appearance in the hatchet lineup.
