Split Plank Edge

Sword

Split Plank Edge is the Wood-tier sword in Everwind, a rough weapon fashioned from a split plank of wood shaped and sharpened into a blade-like form. It represents the most primitive serious sword option available to survivors, crafted at the Crafting Station or via Pocket Crafting with basic wood materials. As a one-handed sword, it provides a middle ground between the speed of daggers and the weight of bludgeons, with decent reach for the Wood tier.

No skill requirement is needed to equip the Split Plank Edge, making it universally available from the start. One rune slot provides room for a single permanent enhancement; Life Steal is a practical early choice to compensate for the limited damage output of Wood-tier weapons. Upgrading at the Upgrade Station to +10 is possible, though Wood-tier weapons are typically replaced quickly once Stone-tier crafting becomes accessible.

Split Plank Edge suits players who prefer the sword's balanced attack arc over the specialized tools of daggers and bludgeons in the opening phase of the game. It introduces the sword playstyle that extends through Rock Blade, Copper Blade, and all the way to the Iron-tier Wardstreet Watch and the unique Grove Murmur boss drop. New players testing different weapon categories will appreciate its straightforward handling before committing to a specialization.
