Everwind Enemy Faction Guide: Mortivar, Grimverd, and Steamer
Date Published

Three major enemy factions inhabit the floating islands of Everwind, each with distinct combat styles, territories, enemy types, and loot tables. Understanding each faction is key to preparing effectively for the challenges ahead. This guide breaks down each faction's strengths, weaknesses, and the biomes where you'll encounter them.
The Mortivar Faction
The Mortivar are an ancient military civilization and the most frequently encountered enemy faction in the game. They appear in virtually every biome, with a particularly heavy presence in the Starting Meadows, Russet Forest, and Swamp and Cemetery zones. Mortivar warriors use melee and ranged weapons, wear varying levels of armor based on their rank, and operate in organized groups that coordinate attacks.
Mortivar enemy subtypes include standard Warriors, Archers, Miners, Raiders, Nomads, Assassins, and the elite Generals and Executioners. Each subtype requires different combat approaches, with Assassins demanding reactive defense and Generals requiring sustained high-damage output. Mortivar enemies drop Skull trophies of their corresponding type, which are valuable crafting and trade items.
The Grimverd Faction
The Grimverd are an ancient civilization associated with the Jungle biome and its stone pyramid structures. Grimverd enemies are found primarily in Zone 1 and Zone 2, particularly inside and around the jungle pyramids. They favor coordinated ambush tactics and often guard valuable dungeon chambers within the pyramid complexes. Defeating Grimverd enemies and clearing their pyramids is one of the early-game's most rewarding dungeon experiences.
The Steamer Faction
The Steamer faction is a mechanical, industrial civilization that maintains a presence across Zone 1 and Zone 2, with a particularly strong fortification in the Russet Forest. Their enemies include mechanical constructs and humanoid Steamer operators who use technological weapons and tools. Steamer enemies are often tougher in terms of raw health and defense compared to equivalent-tier Mortivar enemies, but their attack patterns are more predictable once learned. Steamer Mines is one of the faction's dedicated dungeon zones.
Wildlife Enemies
Beyond the three major factions, Everwind features a variety of Wildlife enemies: animals and creatures that are often neutral unless provoked. Common wildlife includes Capybaras, pigs, wolves, and bears in the lower zones, while more dangerous creatures like Sand Crawlers appear in the Desert. Wildlife drops organic materials like Fur, meat for cooking, and creature-specific crafting items. The Massive Golem Boss is associated with the Wildlife category in the Desert biome.
