Airship Component
Cockpit
Cockpit
The Cockpit is the command and control center of the Everwind airship, providing the player with the interface needed to pilot and steer their aerial vessel through the game's altitude zones and biomes. It is where the player sits to direct the airship's movement, control its speed, and navigate between destinations. Without a functional Cockpit, an airship cannot be operated, making it one of the foundational components of any flyable vessel.
The Cockpit works in concert with the Engine, which provides the thrust executed through the Cockpit's directional controls, and the Balloon, which contributes the lift that the Cockpit's altitude management commands act upon. Its crafting requirements reflect its importance as a primary component, drawing on refined materials and mechanical parts such as the Wooden Steering Wheel from the airship mechanism parts category. The Cockpit must be properly connected to other systems via Pipe components to ensure all control signals are transmitted correctly throughout the vessel.
Place the Cockpit in an accessible and protected position on your airship's superstructure, since it is a critical single point of player interaction during flight. Ensure the Pipe connections between the Cockpit and the Engine are intact before attempting any flight, as disconnected systems will impair control responsiveness. As you upgrade your airship's Airship Core to higher tiers for zone access, revisit the placement and protection of the Cockpit to ensure it remains safely housed within the expanding Hull Block framework of your vessel.
