Airship Component
Cooling Fan
CoolingFan
The Cooling Fan is the airship's thermal management component for high-temperature environments, providing critical heat dissipation that protects both the player and the airship's mechanical systems in hot biomes and during demanding Engine operation. It is particularly vital for navigating the Desert biome unlocked at Zone 3 via the Airship Core Tier 3 upgrade, where extreme heat poses a continuous threat to airship integrity. The Cooling Fan works in tandem with the Heating Unit to give pilots complete temperature regulation across Everwind's full altitude range.
The Cooling Fan is powered by the Energy Generator and requires Pipe integration within the airship's system network, sitting within the same power distribution chain as the Heating Unit and other electrical components. Its crafting requirements draw on mechanical airship parts and processed materials from the Processing Station, reflecting the engineering complexity of a component that must move large volumes of air effectively at operational airship speeds. Engine overheating during sustained high-thrust operations is another scenario where the Cooling Fan's function becomes directly relevant to maintaining flight performance.
Ensure the Cooling Fan is installed and connected before your first expedition into the Desert biome, since the heat buildup in Zone 3 environments is rapid and severe. Monitor the interaction between the Cooling Fan and the Energy Generator's output capacity, as operating both the fan and other high-draw components simultaneously requires adequate generator power. Balance the Cooling Fan's placement in the Hull Block structure with airflow considerations, positioning it where it can most effectively manage heat generated by the Engine to prevent thermal cascades during extended flights.
