Mortivar Rogue

Mortivar

The Mortivar Rogue is a covert operative within the Mortivar civilization, specializing in evasion and surprise strikes rather than direct confrontation. These undead-humanoid agents are among the more difficult standard Mortivar enemies to engage cleanly, as they favor unpredictable movement and attempt to attack from blind spots or after brief disengagement. They are found in forest areas and dungeon interiors, often lurking near more straightforward combatants to capitalize on player distraction.

Mortivar Rogues deal 8 to 9 damage per hit, a tight but above-average damage range, backed by 80 HP and a defense range of 0 to 20, yielding 60 EXP on defeat. Their damage consistency and moderate health pool make them a step above the basic Mortivar Warrior in threat level, and their evasive movement patterns can make landing reliable hits challenging. Fire-based attacks are the preferred approach given the faction's -10% Fire vulnerability, and the Parry Master skill is excellent for catching Rogues mid-lunge, nullifying their ambush advantage.

The Mortivar Rogue shares a thematic niche with the Mortivar Assassin, both functioning as the stealth-and-speed specialists of the Mortivar military roster. Players clearing dungeon rooms should account for Rogues potentially repositioning during combat to avoid presenting vulnerable flanks. Like all Mortivar enemies, Rogues carry the faction's elemental profile: -10% Fire, -5% Electric, +5% Ice, +5% Poison. Skull trophies dropped by Rogues are collectible crafting and decoration items, and their 60 EXP reward makes them worthwhile targets during mid-game farming sessions.
