Reinforced Pipes
MechanismPart
Reinforced Pipes are heavy-walled metal conduits built to withstand the high-pressure steam and fluid transfer demands of an operational airship. Unlike standard pipes, these are wrapped in a secondary steel sleeve and sealed at the joints with heat-resistant gaskets, giving them a distinctly robust, industrial appearance. Their dark gunmetal finish and thick wall profile set them apart from the lighter piping used in basic base-building applications.
Reinforced Pipes are the primary crafting ingredient for the Pipe component at the Fabricator station, and they also appear as secondary ingredients in several other airship system assemblies. The Pipe network connects the Engine, Energy Generator, and Heating Unit into a unified fluid and pressure management system, so an ample supply of Reinforced Pipes is necessary for a fully integrated airship. Players who underestimate Pipe demand often find their construction stalled at the interconnection phase.
Reinforced Pipes are crafted by combining steel ingots with standard pipe sections at a metalworking station. Steel ore is found in abundance in rocky highland biomes and underground cave networks. Because Reinforced Pipes are needed in volume across multiple build stages, establishing a reliable steel smelting operation early is strongly recommended for any player pursuing a complete airship.
