Stone Pickaxe

The Stone Pickaxe is the foundational mining tool in Everwind, used to extract stone, ore, and mineral resources from rock formations scattered across the biomes. Without a pickaxe, players cannot gather the raw materials needed for metal crafting, making this tool one of the highest-priority early crafting targets in the game's survival loop.

Stone Pickaxes are crafted from stone heads and wooden handles, materials that are immediately available in the Starting Meadows. The tool enables players to harvest copper and tin ore needed for Bronze Ingot production at the Furnace, which in turn unlocks the first tier of metal tools and weapons. Upgrading from Stone Pickaxe to Copper and eventually Iron Pickaxe is a critical progression milestone.

The Stone Pickaxe also has utility beyond ore mining: it is used to break through certain stone barriers and rubble piles in dungeon environments, opening alternate routes or revealing hidden caches. Players who thoroughly explore dungeon corridors with pickaxe in hand often discover secret chambers that pickaxe-less explorers miss entirely.
