Enemy
Wraith
Mortivar
The Wraith is a spectral undead entity found on Rotten Island at altitudes of 900 meters and above, haunting the highest and most exposed reaches of that zone. Unlike the mechanical Steamer enemies that dominate lower Rotten Island elevations, the Wraith represents the undead supernatural dimension of the island's dangers, a remnant presence tied to the same necrotic energy that animates the Mortivar. Its appearance at high altitude makes it a threat players will encounter only when venturing deep into the upper layers of Rotten Island.
Wraiths deal 8 damage per hit at a flat rate and carry 90 HP with a defense range of 0 to 8, rewarding 60 EXP upon defeat. Their moderate defense ceiling is lower than many Mortivar ground units, meaning they are not especially resilient, but their 90 HP gives them enough staying power to deal meaningful sustained damage if not addressed quickly. The most effective approach is consistent damage output; because Wraiths are not Steamer-type enemies, the fire and ice strategies optimal against Steamers apply here only if the Wraith shares Mortivar-adjacent elemental properties, so players should test weapon types and adapt accordingly.
The Wraith's placement at 900m and above on Rotten Island positions it as a late-encounter threat for players who have already navigated the lower Steamer-dominated zones. Its coexistence on an island otherwise defined by the Rusted Axiom Crawler and Damaged Steamer suggests Rotten Island has a layered history, with undead entities persisting in its highest altitudes independent of the Steamer civilization's mechanical ruins below. The Horror shares a thematic connection to the Wraith as another spectral entity associated with undead zones. Wraiths yield 60 EXP, matching the Mortivar Assassin and Mortivar Rogue, making them a reasonable high-altitude farming target.
