The airship is the defining feature of Everwind's exploration gameplay. Your ship is how you travel between floating islands, reach higher altitude zones, and carry your loot back to base. Building and maintaining a functional airship is one of the game's primary mid-game objectives, and this guide covers everything you need to know.

Essential Airship Components

  • Cockpit: the control center where you pilot the ship - required for flight
  • Engine: provides thrust and horizontal movement
  • Balloon: provides lift - more balloons means higher maximum altitude
  • Airship Core: the structural heart of the ship
  • Energy Generator: powers systems and components that require electricity
  • Heating Unit: regulates temperature for high-altitude cold zone travel
  • Cooling Fan: prevents engine overheating during extended flight
  • Hull Block: provides structural integrity and damage protection
  • Pipe: connects components for fluid and energy transfer

Reaching Zone 2 and Zone 3

By default, a basic single-balloon airship can reach Zone 1 biomes. Adding more Balloons increases your maximum altitude, with Zone 2 requiring multiple balloons and Zone 3 requiring a fully upgraded balloon system. The Heating Unit becomes mandatory at Zone 3 altitudes, as temperature extremes will damage the ship and its crew without proper thermal management.

Airship Combat and Defense

Your airship can be attacked by enemy ranged units when flying over hostile territory. Hull Blocks absorb incoming damage, and having a sturdy hull with multiple blocks is important for survival in Zone 2 and Zone 3 airspace. Players who invest in ranged skills can defend the ship from the deck while managing flight simultaneously, making bow and rod users natural airship combat specialists.

Airship as Mobile Base

One of Everwind's most unique features is the ability to use your airship as a mobile crafting base. By placing Crafting Stations, a Cooking Station, and storage chests on your airship deck, you can process materials mid-flight and arrive at each island ready to engage rather than needing to return home between every expedition. Players who master airship base design maximize their exploration efficiency.
