Building an efficient base in Everwind is one of the game's most satisfying long-term projects. Your base serves as your crafting hub, storage facility, and safe haven between expeditions. This guide covers the best base layouts for different play stages and how to think about base expansion as you unlock new crafting stations.

Early Game Base Essentials

Your first base should be in the Starting Meadows, positioned near wood and stone resource nodes. The minimum viable early base needs a Crafting Station, a Furnace, a Cooking Station, and basic storage. Use the Block Station to craft stone blocks for walls and flooring once your resource income stabilizes. Surround the base perimeter with fence blocks to slow enemy raids.

Crafting Station Layout

Group crafting stations by function: place the Furnace, Smithing Station, and Processing Station together in a production wing; put the Alchemy Station, Advanced Alchemy Station, and Cooking Station in a separate consumables wing. The Upgrade Station and Rune Crafting Station should be positioned near your armor and weapon storage for efficient equipment management.

Storage Organization

Invest in labeled storage as soon as possible. Separate chests for ores, ingots, wood, cloth, food ingredients, potions, crafting components, and equipment will save immense time compared to a single massive pile of everything. The Carpenter Station produces various chest and storage furniture types that help with long-term organization.

Defensive Considerations

Mortivar raid parties will periodically target player bases. Stone block walls are significantly more durable than wood block alternatives, and elevating your base on raised terrain gives Guards a positional advantage during raids. Trap blocks from the Block Station can be placed at choke points to slow incoming enemies. A well-defended base requires less active attention to maintain.

Airship Dock Planning

Reserve space for your airship dock from the beginning of base planning. The airship needs clear vertical space for landing and takeoff, and surrounding the dock with crafting stations allows quick material transfer between airship storage and base storage. An efficient dock layout is one of the highest-value base design decisions you can make.
