Everwind Wraith Lord Boss Guide: Strategy, Phases, and Drops

Jungle dungeon interior with glowing green energy crystal and stone ruins

The Wraith Lord is one of Everwind's most feared late-game bosses, found in the Rotten Island graveyard at Zone 2 altitude (900m and above). Unlike most bosses, the Wraith Lord is encountered in an open graveyard environment rather than a dungeon room, giving him room to maneuver and creating a more dynamic fight. He drops the Rune of Elements (+10% all elemental damage) and the complete Wraith Lord equipment set, making him one of the most loot-rich encounters in the game.

The Adds: Wraith Knights

The Wraith Lord summons Wraith Knights throughout the fight, ethereal undead warriors that can phase through obstacles and attack from unexpected angles. Wraith Knights have moderate HP and deal solid damage, but their phase-through movement makes kiting unreliable. The recommended approach is to use AoE damage, specifically the Spellbook of Hellfire or Lightning Mastery chain attacks, to eliminate multiple Wraith Knights simultaneously before they can isolate you from the Wraith Lord.

Unlike the Skeleton King's Elite Guards, Wraith Knights respawn periodically during the Wraith Lord fight. This means you cannot simply clear them once and move on; you must continuously manage the add wave while simultaneously engaging the boss. This sustained multitasking is what makes the Wraith Lord significantly harder than the Skeleton King.

Wraith Lord Combat

The Wraith Lord uses a combination of spectral melee attacks and ranged dark energy projectiles. His melee attacks have longer reach than you might expect due to his spectral nature, so staying at medium range is safer than either extreme close quarters or the maximum range where projectiles are harder to dodge. The dark energy projectiles travel in an arc that can be stepped aside from with a well-timed strafe.

The Wraith Lord's most dangerous attack is a sweeping dark energy wave that deals high damage across a wide frontal arc. This attack cannot be parried in the traditional sense and must be dodged to the side. Watch for the wind-up animation (the Wraith Lord raises both arms simultaneously) and dodge left or right immediately when you see it. Standing directly in front of the Wraith Lord when this animation begins is the most common cause of death in this fight.

Use stamina food and the Tireless Potion to ensure you can maintain active dodging throughout the fight. Running out of stamina while a Wraith Knight attacks from behind while the Wraith Lord prepares his sweeping wave is a near-guaranteed death. Manage your stamina bar as carefully as you manage your HP bar.

Drops and Rewards

The Wraith Lord guarantees the Rune of Elements, which provides +10% to all elemental damage simultaneously. This is the only source of the Rune of Elements in the game and makes farming the Wraith Lord highly worthwhile for any Arcanist build or elemental-focused Warrior. He also drops the full Wraith Lord equipment set, including the Tattered Wraith Garb chestplate and Tattered Wraith Hood, both Unique-tier pieces with special properties. Additional drops include high-tier crafting materials specific to the Rotten Island biome.
